Since we've all entered the hellscape and become locked in our homes, our government-sanctioned daily exercise has become, for many of us, a welcome sliver of normality. We decided to put together five songs that we've been enjoying that might take the global pandemic off your mind for a few minutes:

1. Race Car by Deaton Chris Anthony feat. Clairo and CoCo & Clair Clair

Yes, this a TikTok song. Yes, it slaps. If you like bubblegum pop with a vehicular theme this is perfect for you. You can pretend you're a popular e-girl Instagram personality being a podium girl at a NASCAR race - rather than walking around your block with your dog.

2. Shawty by Remi Wolf

I saw this on a friend's instagram story (shout out Cordo) and I have not been able to stop listening since. Guaranteed to bring a true slice of sunshine to your day and make you think about your honey (even if you don't have one).

3. The Killing Moon by Echo and the Bunnymen

Close your eyes. It's 1983. You're walking around the streets of Liverpool in lots of black eyeliner, late at night. Open your eyes. It's 4pm and you're walking around your garden in the same pair of sweats you've been wearing all week. Either way this is a really good song.

4. Heart Shaped Box by Amber Mark

Not often do I find praise for one of the numerous, racially-ambiguous female soul singers that seem to saturate the UK music scene currently. However, this velvety smooth Nirvana cover by Amber Mark is completely irresistible and perfect listening for a solitary stroll.

5. forever by Charli XCX

New Charli, how could I not? In the words of Lady Gaga "talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it". I don't know, it's just good.

Luckily for you we've compiled a handy playlist, have a listen and let us know what you think.
